An actionable way to speed up longevity research and funding.

I am a broke college student, so right now I am not able to put this plan into action. But when I begin bringing in the dough, you can bet your ass that I'll be doing this. What is this?

ADVERTISING. I'm sure as many of you know, right now, for $5, you can put a message/advertisement on Facebook and many other websites that will get in front of THOUSANDS of viewers through pay per click campaigns. For $1000, you can get in front of hundreds of thousands of people, potentially even millions. My thoughts? We should take things into our own hands and begin mass-advertising the efforts of longevity research and begin calling upon donations from the public. Think about it, if each month 100 people from r/futurology gave $1 for advertising, we could target (for example) New York City with advertising on longevity research and bring the topic in front of the eyes of hundreds of thousands of people who haven't been exposed to the idea before. What this will do is get the general public used to seeing the possibility of longevity and at the same time, we will get people to donate.

I know this is obvious, but I just wanted to get this line of thinking out there because I think it could be mind-blowingly effective. Think about it, if this subreddit organized advertising campaigns where we had a monthly "pot" where we gather advertising funds consistently and created a gripping and memorable ad, over the course of 1 year, 2 years, etc., we will be slowly planting a seed that millions of people over time will become exposed to. Through these ads we can send these people to SENS' website or a page where we answer their questions about overpopulation etc.

I think it would be a great communal effort that could be game-changing.

Would like to see everybody else's thoughts.
